Method and sources
Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis), statistical report on the DRG statistics, operations and procedures (four-digit OPS codes), 2023 and 2024; own calculation. Licence: Datenlizenz Deutschland, Namensnennung 2.0.
Procedures are counted, not persons, and outpatient examinations are missing. A lower share does not by itself mean under-provision, since disease frequency and age structure differ between women and men.
